Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Chemically induced (ENU)
Mutation:    Single point mutation

Mutation detailsMale mice heterozygote for the Insrtm1Dac allele were treated with ENU and their offspring were screened for impaired glucose tolerance. One line derived from this screen was found to have a single A to G mutation at nucleotide position 1,025 of this gene locus. This corresponded to a tyrosine to cysteine substitution at amino acid 123 (Y123C), which lies in the highly conserved HMG-binding domain. Allelic complementation suggests that this is a functionally null allele. (J:141688)
Inheritance:    Dominant
