description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Pvalb-cre)1Tama expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA cre recombinase gene was inserted into the ATG start site of a murine Pvalb gene located on a BAC. The targeted BAC was inserted into zygotes and four founder lines were generated. This line was chosen for further propagation based on colocalization of cre recombinase and endogenous Pvalb. Cre expression was detected in select neurons of the neocortex, cingurate cortex, pyriform cortex, hippocampus, basal ganglia, and the reticular thalamic nucleus region of the brain. (J:146140)
