Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mapttm2(Hdac1)Jae expresses 2 genes

Mutation detailsCoding sequence for the mouse Hdac1 protein was placed in-frame with exon 1 of the gene locus creating a fusion protein containing the first 31 amino-acids of the endogenous locus. A 2-3 fold increase in expression of Hdac1 was confirmed in the CA1 region of the hippocampus by immunohistofluorescence. Hdac1 activity was confirmed by decreased levels of acetylation present in the same region as expression. (J:148391)
