Insertion of gene trap vector
Vector: pGT1Lxf
Vector Type: gene trap
Mutation details: The insertional mutation by a gene-trapping vector, pGT1lxf, was designed to create an in-frame fusion between the 5' exons of the trapped gene and a reporter, geo (a fusion of beta-galactosidase and neomycin phosphotransferase II), and occurred in intron 11-12. The mutant yielded a fusion transcript containing exons 111 truncating the encoded protein after its third PDZ domain. Western blots of brain extracts from knockout homozygote pups confirmed the deletion and absence of full length encoded protein.

All BayGenomics gene trap mutations were generated in either CGR8 or E14TG2a (129P2/OlaHsd) parental ES cell lines, with the majority in subline E14TG2a.4. The specific ES cell line in which each mutation was made is not specified.
