Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Gene trapped (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion of gene trap vector     Vector: pGT1Lxf     Vector Type: gene trap

Mutation detailsTrapped gene association determined by genome coordinate overlap and strand. A gene trap vector (pGT1Lxf) that contains a splice-acceptor sequence upstream of the reporter gene, beta-geo inserted inside the intron between exon 2 and exon 3. Sequence analysis showed that the gene trap inserted about 10-kb downstream of exon 2, leading to a new splicing product composed of exon 1, exon 2, and beta-galactosidase gene. RT-PCR and sequences confirmed the presence of a fusion mRNA transcript. (J:226959)

Notes
All BayGenomics gene trap mutations were generated in either CGR8 or E14TG2a (129P2/OlaHsd) parental ES cell lines, with the majority in subline E14TG2a.4. The specific ES cell line in which each mutation was made is not specified.
