origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:151858
Parent Cell Line:  Bruce 4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  B6.Cg-Thy1a
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 6 with an additional loxP site and a frt-flanked neomycin/EGFP cassette inserted downstream of exon 6. The neomycin/EGFP cassette was subsequently removed by crossing founder mice with a flpe transgenic mice, leaving exon 6 floxed. Removal of exon 6 by cre-mediated recombination will leave exon 7 out-of-frame and create a null allele. (J:151858)
