Mutation details: A construct containing the CAGGS promoter driving expression of a loxP-flanked EGFP with a polyA STOP sequence, followed by the (canonical) coding sequence of Pax6 and an IRES-lacZ-polyA cassette was used to generate the mouse line. The allele ubiquitously expresses EGFP. When these mice are crossed to a cre recombinase-expressing line, the STOP-EGFP sequence is excised, allowing coexpression of Pax6 and lacZ.
