Transgene
origin
Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inducible, Inserted expressed sequence)
Inducer:    doxycycline/tetracycline
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(tetO-ATXN3)2904Olri expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe tetracycline response element was used to drive inducible expression of the human gene with 77 CAG repeats. Five lines were created (lines 2909, 2776, 2285, 2904, and 2723) with different transgene copy numbers and CAG repeats. Line 2904 contains three copies of the transgene with 60, 65, and 80 CAG repeats per copy. This line also exhibits the highest level of protein expression. (J:154079)
