Mutation details: A loxP site was inserted into the second intron and a loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the sixth intron. The neomycin cassette was removed by transient expression of Cre recombinase in ES cells prior to the production of chimeric mice, leaving two loxP sites that flank exons 3-6 in the final allele. Exons 3-6 were excised by Cre mediated recombination.
