Mutation details: The construct contains the early region of SV40 TAg, a beta-geo gene (a fusion of beta-galactosidase and neomycin phosphotransferase genes) expressed from the cytomegalovirus (CMV) early enhancer/chicken beta-actin (CAG) promoter. The beta-geo gene and three downstream polyA signals (3xpolyA) are flanked by loxP sites. Exposure to Cre recombinase results in the deletion of the beta-geo/3xpolyA cassette leading to the TAg expression. Two lines showed reproducible expression of beta-gal in the ovarian surface epithelium (OSE). Of these two lines, only one was found to express SV40 TAg in the OSE after the intrabursal administration of adenovirus expressing Cre recombinase. No line number was given.
