Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, Modified regulatory region, No functional change)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA 674 bp neural crest enhancer region within the upstream genomic region was replaced by a flowed PGK-neo cassette. Immunohistochemistry showed a drastic reduction or complete loss of protein expression in homozygous embryos at E12.5. Removal of the PGK-neo cassette with Cre-expressing mice allows for tissue-specific rescue. (J:159124)
