Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(MMTV-cre)FMam expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene directs the expression of Cre recombinase under the control of the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) long terminal repeat. The viral MMTV promoter directed expression of Cre recombinase in the secretory epithelium of the mammary gland, the salivary gland and in the female germline. High levels of recombination have been detected in the virgin and lactating mammary gland, salivary gland, seminal vesicle, skin, and various cells of the immune system. Little background recombination was observed in the lung, kidney, liver and brain tissues. (J:67925)
