Mutation details: A DNA fragment containing the rat insulin promoter 1 regulatory region drives expression of the SV40 early region and the firefly luciferase coding region. The two expressed regions are separated by an IRES and followed by the SV40 early polyadenylation signal. Three lines were generated. mRNA expression levels of large T antigen are 12 fold higher in this line compared to lines 2 and 3. Luciferase expression was detected in testis and fat tissue lysates as well as in tumor tissue. This line carries approximately 40 copies of the transgene. The integration site was distal to the H4 region of chromosome 3, 100 and 500 kb apart from the next annotated genes.
