Mutation detailsThe endogenous 3' UTR sequence was replaced with a cassette composed of a loxP site followed by the 3' UTR of the Fos gene, followed by the neomycin gene, a second loxP site and finally, the 3' UTR of the bovine growth hormone gene. The modified allele expresses the gene at lower levels whereas, after cre excision of the first 3'UTR and the neo cassette, the endogenous gene is over expressed. (J:165111)
