Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsOne loxP site was inserted just upstrean of exon 2 and a floxed neomycin selection cassette in reverse orientation was inserted in intron 4. Exons 2-4 which encode the first RNA binding domain were thus flanked by loxP sites. This allele expresses an aberrant transcript 500 bp longer than expected because of an additional exon encoding an additional 166 amino acids. Low amounts of a 64 kDalton protein are produced.
