Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsAn EGFP expression cassette as well as an FRT flanked neomycin resistance gene was inserted into the Mir144 hairpin. The EGFP construct includes a synthetic intronic sequence and the strong late polyadenylation signal from SV40. The selection gene was excised by crossing to flp deleter mice. Insertion of the EGFP reporter in Mir144 disrupts expression of both Mir144 and Mir451 which are transcribed as a single precursor RNA. (J:177074)
