Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Cpa3-cre)3Glli expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA 780 bp fragment corresponding to the region immediately 5' to the start codon of the Cpa3 gene was used to drive expression of cre recombinase in the transgene construct. The Cpa3-cre construct was microinjected into C57BL/6-derived embryonic stem (ES) cells. Analysis of mice generated in crosses of cre transgenic to dual reporter (mT/mG) animals showed that most (about 89%) of peritoneal mast cells exhibit high levels of recombination whereas only 13-15% of granulocytes (basophils, eosinophils and neutrophils) display significant recombination.
