description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Igh-VSp6/IGHM)39Corc expresses 2 genes

Mutation detailsThis chimeric transgene contains the rearranged immunoglobulin heavy chain (Igh) variable region [V(D)J] segments followed by the Igh enhancer from the mouse hybridoma Sp6 joined to a 9 kb fragment of human genomic sequence containing all of the IGHM (mu) constant region exons. This transgene encodes both secreted and membrane bound Cmu protein. Antibodies against human IgM demonstrate surface expression of the chimeric heavy chain on most B cells of transgenic mice.
