Mutation details: The open reading frame has been replaced with an mCherry expression cassette (transneuronal tracer truncated barley lectin, IRES, mCherry and self-excising neomycin resistance cassette). The final allele lacks the resistance cassette. Reporter expression is seen in single spindle-shaped cells of fungiform papillae and in seminiferous tubules in more mature round and elongated spermatids. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the absence of transcript expression in oral taste buds.
