Mutation details: The transgene contains a genomic fragment of the mouse promoter from -248 bp to +50 bp of the transcriptional initiation site driving expression of a lacZ reporter gene preceeded by an SV40 splice donor-acceptor site and followed by a polyadenylation signal. 12 lines were generated. The unnamed line (#a) inserted into the beginning of exon 5 of the trapped gene and resulted in removal a splice acceptor site. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the absence of protein expression in the ependymal cells of the lateral ventricle.
