Targeted Allele Detail
Summary
Symbol: Cenpotm1b(KOMP)Mbp
Name: centromere protein O; targeted mutation 1b, Mouse Biology Program, UC Davis
MGI ID: MGI:5463969
Synonyms: Cenpo-
Gene: Cenpo  Location: Chr12:4246004-4284294 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr12, 2.02 cM, cytoband A1.1
Alliance: Cenpotm1b(KOMP)Mbp page
IMPC: Cenpo gene page
Cenpotm1b(KOMP)Mbp/Cenpotm1b(KOMP)Mbp mice exhibit embryonic lethality, with embryos recovered at E7.5 but not at E9.5. Embryos are smaller and form a rudimentary egg cylinder at E7.5, but no primitive streak or hallmarks of gastrulation are seen indicating arrest prior to gastrulation.

Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion     Vector: L1L2_Bact_P

Mutation detailsThe L1L2_Bact_P cassette was inserted at position 4265061 of Chromosome 12 upstream of the critical exon(s) (Build GRCm39). The cassette is composed of an FRT site followed by lacZ sequence and a loxP site. This first loxP site is followed by neomycin resistance gene under the control of the human beta-actin promoter, SV40 polyA, a second FRT site and a second loxP site. A third loxP site is inserted downstream of the targeted exon(s) at position 4267761. The critical exon(s) were thus flanked by loxP sites and subsequent expression of cre recombinase then excised this critical sequence resulting in a reporter knockout allele. Further information on targeting strategies used for this and other IKMC alleles can be found at http://www.informatics.jax.org/mgihome/nomen/IKMC_schematics.shtml (J:157064, J:188991)
