Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA loxP site was into intron 3. An FRT-flanked neo with a 3' loxP was into intron 4. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and exon 4. RNA analysis of mammary tissue form homozygous mice detects only a mutant truncated RNA product. Immunoblot and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed the absence of protein in epidermis from homozygous mice. Depending on the antibody used a 42kDa species is detected in the thymus and prostate; however, this is thought to be the result of cross-reaction with of clade B serpins. (J:206439)
