Mutation details: This transgene consists of the 1.9 kb human insulin promoter region, rabbit beta-globin intron, human diphtheria toxin receptor (HBEGF) with L148S/P149T mutations, and the polyadenylation signals of rabbit beta-globin and SV40. It was injected into the pronucleus of Prkdcscid eggs. Transgene expression is seen in pancreatic beta cells and administration of diphtheria toxin results in HBEGF expressing cells.
