Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsMice carrying the Cetn2tm1Wbae allele were crossed with an EIIa-Cre driver to eliminate the neo cassette and delete exons 2 and 3. Truncated mRNA (encompassing exons 1, 4, and 5) was detectable by RT/PCR but at very low levels (5-10% of wild-type). The truncated protein was undetectable in mutant olfactory epithelia by immunostaining, indicating that this is a null allele. (J:211061)
