Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:59425The existence of two QTLs that modify the severity of polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in jck mice was indicated. One such marker identified as Jckm2 mapped significantly with D1Mit30 on mouse Chromosome 1 as evidenced in progeny from a (C57BL/6J jck/jck x FVB)F1 jck/+ intercross with an associated LOD score given as 4.1 . The other modifying marker was indicated as Jckm1 and mapped with D10Mit20 with a LOD score of 3.5. Moreover, various congenic strains were constructed that supported the existence of these two modifying loci. Another report detailing the QTL mapping of Jckm1 and Jckm2 can be found in J:23893. 04/15/2015 Curator Note: Because Jckm1 and Jckm2 were originally mapped in J:23893 in 1995 using an (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)F1 jck /+ intercross, which differs from the cross used here, we consider the current study a separate mapping experiment and have named these QTL Jckm3 (Chr 10) and Jckm4 (Chr 1) respectively. |
