Linkage analysis was performed on 309 (172 males; 137 females) (129S6/SvEvTac-Apoe^tm4Mae x D2.129P2(B6)-Apoe^tm1Unc/J)F2 intercross mice using 170 SNP markers to identify QTL associated with plasma HDL cholesterol level.

QTL Phdlc3 maps to 71-167 Mb (48-80 cM) on Chromosome 1 with a peak LOD score of 6.0 at 126 Mb (54 cM) in linkage with plasma HDL cholesterol level. 129S6/SvEvTac-Apoe alleles confer increased plasma HDL cholesterol levels.
