Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:151847

After infection with Schistosoma mansoni SJL/J mice developed large liver granulomas whereas C57BL/6J mice exhibited smaller granulomas. Low granulomas are dominate as exhibited in (SJL/J x C57BL/6J)F1 mice. (SJL/J x C57BL/6J)F2 mice were informative in mapping the difference in granulomas size to chromosome 4 and chromosome 17. The QTL marker Sm1 on chromosome 4 was associated with D4Mit103 (129.2 Mb , LOD 3.4) and the QTL marker Sm2 on chromosome 7 was associated with D17Mit82(33.9 Mb, LOD 6.0). Therewas a suggestive locus on mouse Chromosome 9 with a LOD of 2.5 at 95.2 Mb. Congenic strains SJL.B6-D4Mit103 and SJL.B6-D17Mit82 were confirmed the mapping, whereby both strains showed the reduction in granulomas size exhibited the the donor strain C57BL/6J
