Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:153521(Female C57BL/6.apoE-/- x male C3H/HeJ.apoE-/-)F1 mice were mated to produce 204 F2 mice in order to map QTL that influence neointimal formation in mice. C57BL/6.apoE-/- develop neointima lesions whereas C3H/HeJ.apoE-/- do not. This difference facilitated the QTL mapping of neointima lesions formation if a genome-wide scan using STS markers. A QTL , Nils1 segregated significantly with D12Mit144 ( 61. cM LOD 5.02) and explained 15% of the variance in lesion size. A suggestive QTL was found in chromosome 13 (LOD 2.67) associated with D13Mit250 and explained 8% of the variance. Plasma non-HDL, cholesterol and triglyceride levels were also influenced by QTL using the same cross population. A QTL (Nhdlt1) was mapped in mouse Chromosome 1 associated withD1Mit270 (92.3 cM) with a LOD of 3.31 for non-HDL and 4.92 for Triglyceride. This QTL explained 9% of the variance for non-HDL and 11% of the varience for Triglyceride. Another Significant QTL with a LOD of 4.0 mapped near D12Mit97 and accounted for 9% of the varience for non-HDL. This QTL was indicated by the authors to overlap Nhdlq12. Sugestive loci for non-HDL was found near D4Mit192, and D15Mit161. A suggestive QTL for triglyceride mapped near D16Mit165 |
