Sars1^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg}/Sars1^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg} mice exhibit embryonic lethality, with embryos recovered at E3.5 but not at E7.5. Embryos at E3.5 appear as dying morulas. Morulas in vitro fail to hatch from the zona pellucida with apparent cell death, never reaching a morphological blastocyst stage.
