Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:153539Sensitivity of the locomotor stimulant response to methamphetamine (MA) was analysed in an attempt to identify QTL underling the behavior. A/J mice showed less activity then did C57BL/6J mice. CSS-11 is a consomic strain wherein an A/J chromosome 11 hasbeen substituted for a C57BL/6J chromosome on a C57BL/6J background. The main focus of the QTL study was to map loci responsible for activity following treatment with MA, as measured on day 3. Consomic strains CSS-8, -11, and -16 showed less locomotor activity on day 3 following MA administration when compared with C57BL/6J. CSS-11 had the lowest response suggesting the involvement on chromosome 11. The authors genotyped 87 (C57BL/6J CSS-11) F2 mice in a search for the QTL for day 3 activity. For day 3 activity a QTL was observed on mouse Chromosome 11 with a location at 52.4 cM (95% confidence interval = 45-65 cM) and a LOD score of 2.79 (significance level= 2.20). The SNPs listed in the method section which would be included in chromosome 11 are:rs13480888 (16.9 Mb), rs13480921 (25.7 Mb), rs6280308 (32.6 Mb), rs13481015 (48.1 Mb), rs13481044, (57.6 Mb), rs13481117 (79.1 Mb), rs13481170 (95.5 Mb), rs3023315(99.4 Mb), rs13481220 (108.4 Mb) and rs13481256 (118.0 Mb). |
