QTL Variant Detail
Summary
QTL variant: Prdt6A/J
Name: prion disease incubation time 6; A/J
MGI ID: MGI:5789025
QTL: Prdt6  Location: Chr14:4431606-6038924 bp  Genetic Position: Chr14, Syntenic
Variant
origin
Strain of Specimen:  A/J
Variant
description
Allele Type:    QTL
Inheritance:    Not Specified
Notes
The authors determined that the Prdt6 locus is driven by the presence of a bi-allelic split present among the eight inbred founder strains of the Northport HS stock: A= A/J, AKR/J, BALB/cJ, C57BL/6J; C= C3H/HeJ, CBA/J, DBA/2J, LP/J. We have created allele records for the strains A/J and C3H/HeJ to represent the "A" and "C" allele groups, respectively.

Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:167733

A locus on mouse Chromosome 14 was shown as displaying an association with prion disease susceptibility incubation as indicated using Northport heterogeneous stock (HS)animals. This HS stock was derived from semi-randomly mated parental inbred strains A/J,AKR/J, BALB/cJ, C3H/HeJ, C57BL/6J, CBA/J, DBA/2J LP/J. Strain distribution patterns of the aformentioned strains indicated that a QTL region containing Prdt6 was associated with Rarb (rs48898775 exon 3, Allele test p value = .0002) and Thrb (rs16822230 Exon 6,Allele test p-value = .0005)
