Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Chemically induced (ENU) (Not Specified)
Mutation:    Single point mutation

Mutation detailsENU-induced T to C transition at base pair 55,605,910 (v38) on chromosome 14, or base pair 1,926 in the GenBank genomic region NC_000080 within the splice donor site of intron 4, six nucleotides from exon 4. The effects of the mutation at the cDNA and protein level have not examined, but the mutation is predicted to result in skipping of the 184-base pair exon 8 (out of 10 total exons). Skipping of exon 8 would result in a frame shifted protein product beginning after amino acid 126 of the protein, which is normally 465 amino acids in length, and terminating after the inclusion of 33 aberrant amino acids.
