Mutation details: A construct encoding a loxP-flanked transcriptional STOP cassette upstream of chicken ovalbumin lacking its signal sequence fused to the C-terminal 166 amino acids of Legionella pneumophila flagellin and an IRES-GFP downstream of the fusion gene was targeted to the locus. This creates a conditional-ready allele that will only be expressed after cre-mediated deletion of the STOP cassette. Expression of flagellin activates endogenous NAIP/NLLRC4 inflammasome while the ovalbumin permits the tracking of the adaptive immune response.
