Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Conditional ready, Dominant negative, Inserted expressed sequence, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(ACTB-EGFP,-Kcnj8*)1Wco expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene consists of the chicken beta-actin (CX1) promoter, followed by a loxP-flanked EGFP gene including a stop codon, and a pore rat Kcnj8 dominant negative mutant in which glycine-phenylalanine-glycine was mutated to three alanines. EGFP is ubiquitously expressed unless cre-recombinase is expressed which excises the EGFP and results in expression of the mutant Kcnj8. Three lines were generated but only a single line was selected for further study. (J:134852)
