Mutation details: The transgene construct consists of the mouse DNA including approximately 5 kbp of the promoter region, seven exons and approximately 1 kbp of the 3 region with two loxP sites inserted between exon Ib and exon II, and between exon VII and the marker sequence that was added at the 3 end of the construct. In addition, the NheI site located after the stop codon was replaced with a BamHI site to identify mRNA transcribed from the transgene. Eight lines were generated, with three (Fkappa, Falpha, and Fgamma) rescuing Gpx4 knock-out mice from embryonic lethality, however the pound symbol (#) is used when line is not specified and/or lines are pooled. Cre-mediated recombination can be used to delete exons II-VII.
