description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Ins1-cre,-DsRed*T3)#Caoy expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene consists of an 8.5-kb fragment of mouse Ins1 promoter (Ins1; nucleotides -8.5 kb to +12 bp relative to the transcriptional start site), a nuclear location signal fused to the Cre gene fragment, an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) sequence, and a Dsred.T3 cDNA fragment followed by a polyadenylation signal. Seven lines (1-7) were generated with similar expression patterns. The pound symbol (#) is used when no line is specified and/or lines are pooled. Cre expression in different organs was examined by RT-PCR with RNA extracted from pancreatic islets, brain, liver, fat, skeletal muscle, spleen, lungs, small intestine, large intestine, kidney, heart, testes, stomach, and hypothalamus. The results showed the negligible Cre expression in tissues other than islets. (J:224637)
