Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing system was used to target the entire Spem2 gene, including the 32-bp-long 5-untranscribed region, exons 1-3 (except for the last 42 bp of exon 3), and 2 introns in between. A 1894-bp deletion was confirmed by direct sequencing analysis. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated the absence of expression in the testes of homozygous mutant males. (J:238766, J:354200)
