Mutation details: The Zbtb7b silencer was targeted with an ssODN template, coding for the first 250 bp of the silencer sequence in reverse orientation, using TALEN technology (ZNF target sequences (capitalized) ACCGCTACCCTAACCcataaCTGGAAGGGGTTTAG). The resulting allele has the 5' (distal) end of the silencer flipped, while the 3' (proximal) end, containing a highly conserved noncoding element (HCNE), remains in the normal orientation.
