Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsTALEN-mediated genome engineering introduced a 7 bp deletion, causing a frameshift with a premature stop codon at the start of the coding sequence. This disruption results in a truncated, non-functional protein product. Immunofluorescence microscopy showed no positive staining with an H2A.J antibody in the epidermis of 3- and 12-month-old and irradiated homozygous mutant mice. (J:343536)
