Mouse lines carrying:
Cat3vl mutation (1 available); any Cat3 mutation (2 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• significant reduction in the expected 1:3 segregation ratio, due to partial lethality of homozygotes

vision/eye
• an opaque area in the anterior part of the lens
• lens dysplasia
• small vacuoles in the anterior part of the lens

vision/eye
• lens dysplasia and vacuolization
• occasionally the capsule ruptures and the lens substance extends into the anterior chamber
• opacity consists of small and large vacuoles that fill up the whole lens (J:6686)
• manifestation is bilateral and penetrance is complete (J:6686)
• mutant eye weighs about 50% of wild-type (J:9528)
• pupillary dilation by atrophin is poor
