• dramatic decrease in ductal branching morphogenesis as measured by numbers of branch tips is observed in mutants
• modest but significant increase in prostate gland weight in mutants is seen
• adult seminal gland is elongated and tubular in contrast to wild-type glands which are curved with numerous lateral projections
• at birth, a lack of epithelial buds growing into surrounding mesenchyme is observed, but as mutants age, significant organ growth and epithelial folding does occur
• smooth muscle sheath surrounding seminal vesicle is ~2-fold thicker and global smooth muscle distribution around vesicles is abnormal in mutants; muscle is organized into essentially smooth tube around seminal gland, usually not extending between folds of epithelium
