phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
adipose tissue
• the number of adipose cells increases in females but not in males, particularily in the abdominal, parametrial, and internal depots
• carcass fat is increased 4-fold in males and 5.5-fold in females
• increased adipocyte size in both females and males

growth/size/body
• animals weigh 50% more than wild-type at 6 months of age (J:6095)
• mice with the mutation can be classified between 4 and 6 months of age (J:6111)

liver/biliary system
• hypertrophic liver

homeostasis/metabolism
• 5-fold increase at 6 months of age
• however, glucose levels are normal
• mutants have an increased protein content
