Cdh5tm1Hub mutation (0 available); any Cdh5 mutation (59 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
cardiovascular system
• vessels of the allantois and endocardium are abnormal at E8.5 while at this time the dorsal aorta appears normal; however by E9.5 the dorsal aorta is abnormal suggesting that vessels initially form properly but rapidly deteriorate
• allantois explant cultures from E8.5 embryos fail to develop interconnected vessels

cardiovascular system
• at E9.25, in the caudal part of the embryo the dorsal aorta is dilated
• at E9.25, in the caudal part of the embryo the umbilical artery is dilated
• at E9.25, limited angiogenic extensions (ie intersomitic vessels) are present
• at E9.25, limited angiogenic extensions (ie intersomitic vessels) are present and the head microcirculation is only partially developed
• at E8.5, embryonic vascularization is delayed with incomplete formation of the dorsal aortae in the caudal region, presence of the sinus venosus but absence of the posterior cardinal veins, and no PECAM staining rostral of the cardiac region; however vessel formation occurs in the caudal region
• at E8.5, endocardium is present but endothelial cells fail to form a lumen
• at E9.25, a vascular plexus is present but no organized large vessels are present
• endothelial cells along the vitello-embryonic stalk assemble into vesicles but do not form continuous vessels
• blood islands form and primary hematopoeisis is normal but failure of primary vascular plexus formation prevents normal blood circulation so that no primitive erythrocytes are seen in the embryo
• at E10.5, distended pericardial cavity
• at E10.5 the heart beat is irregular and weak

embryo
• endothelial cells along the vitello-embryonic stalk assemble into vesicles but do not form continuous vessels
• blood islands form and primary hematopoeisis is normal but failure of primary vascular plexus formation prevents normal blood circulation so that no primitive erythrocytes are seen in the embryo
• at E10.5 there are never more than 20 somites compared to 35 in wild-type mice
• at E9.25, umbilical vessels do not penetrate the allantois; however vascular organization of the placenta is normal
• at E9.25, in the caudal part of the embryo the umbilical artery is dilated
• blood islands are concentrated in the placental hemisphere of the yolk sac with very few blood cells present in the embryonic hemisphere

cellular
• extensive cell death is seen beginning at E9.5

growth/size/body

integument
• at E10.5
