Hoxd12tm1Mrc mutation (0 available); any Hoxd12 mutation (14 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
limbs/digits/tail
• the wrist carpal bone d4 shows a subtle, characteristic indentation at its distal border; possibly due to inappropriate fusion of the prechondrogenic condensations
• phalange 1 of digit II is reduced in length (80% of normal bone length) while phalange 2 of digit V is 55% of normal bone length
• homozygotes are overtly normal but display mild malformations in the forelimb, including reductions in the length of several autopodal bones
• mutant metacarpals of digits II and V appear shortened relative to wild-type
