• the wrist carpal bone d4 shows a subtle, characteristic indentation at its distal border; possibly due to inappropriate fusion of the prechondrogenic condensations

• homozygotes are overtly normal but display mild malformations in the forelimb, including reductions in the length of several autopodal bones

• mutant metacarpals of digits II and V appear shortened relative to wild-type
