N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• fewer than the expected numbers of homozygotes are observed at weaning on the congenic C57BL/6J background, however no postnatal lethality is seen on a mixed 129P2/OlaHsd and C57BL/6J background

• Background Sensitivity: unlike on a congenic C57BL/6J backround where mutants exhibit postnatal lethality, the expected numbers of homozygotes are observed on a mixed 129P2/OlaHsd and C57BL/6J background

endocrine/exocrine glands

growth/size/body
• always in proximity of the nipple, most males develop 1-3 cutaneous cysts ranging in size from 1-3 mm
• cysts are hybrid infundibular/matrical cysts lined by orthokeratinizing sqamous epithelium and stretches of matrix cells
• due to growth retardation
• 20% growth retardation is apparent by 10 days of age

reproductive system

renal/urinary system

neoplasm
N
• mutants are tumor-free unlike most other Apc mutants

integument
• always in proximity of the nipple, most males develop 1-3 cutaneous cysts ranging in size from 1-3 mm
• cysts are hybrid infundibular/matrical cysts lined by orthokeratinizing sqamous epithelium and stretches of matrix cells
