mortality/aging
• 59.9% of mice die by 20 weeks of age due to complications from thymoma
• mortality rates are higher in females (73.9% mortality at 20 weeks of age) than males (41.7% mortality)
• only 5 of 82 mice lived longer than 60 weeks

neoplasm
• thymomas develop with a high penentrance in this transgenic line but not other lines
• thymomas do not express the transgene
• tumor progression is more aggressive in females (73.9% mortality at 20 weeks of age) than males (41.7% mortality)
• thymomas are of epithelial origin with desmosomes, cilia, and tonofibrils all evident within the tumor cells

cardiovascular system
• the vena cava is often ruptured by thymomas leading to death of the mouse

respiratory system
• mice display respiratory distress as they age

liver/biliary system
• all mice exhibit liver congestion

vision/eye
• all mice exhibit this

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice develop edema as they age

endocrine/exocrine glands
• thymomas develop with a high penentrance in this transgenic line but not other lines
• thymomas do not express the transgene
• tumor progression is more aggressive in females (73.9% mortality at 20 weeks of age) than males (41.7% mortality)
• thymomas are of epithelial origin with desmosomes, cilia, and tonofibrils all evident within the tumor cells

hematopoietic system
• thymomas develop with a high penentrance in this transgenic line but not other lines
• thymomas do not express the transgene
• tumor progression is more aggressive in females (73.9% mortality at 20 weeks of age) than males (41.7% mortality)
