• at 3 weeks after cuff-induced femoral artery injury, homozygotes exhibit significanlty enhanced neointimal formation, as shown by a 249% increase in mean intimal thickness and a 257% increase in neointima/media ratio, with no significant differences in medial thickness relative to wild-type mice
• in addition, homozygotes exhibit a 110% and 862% increase in the PCNA index of intima and adventitia, respectively
