phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
nervous system
• the number of dendritic branches is increased (26.3+/-4 compared to 16.7+/-2 in wild-type mice)
• dendritic length is increased (1599+/-174 um compared to 1132+/-100 um in wild-type mice)
• however, the diameter of the cell body, the number of primary dendrites emanating from the soma and total dorsoventral and rostrocaudal extents are normal
• cutaneous receptive field size is increased (3593+/-615 compared to 2215+/-223 in wild-type mice)
• LT cells of the dorsal root require increased stimulation to produce an excitatory postsynaptic current (300+/-26 uA, 50 us compared to 217+/-17 uA, 50 us for wild-type mice)

integument
• mice exhibit a decrease in sensitivity to mechanical skin stimulation (0.76+/-0.1 g compared to 0.42+/-0.1 g in wild-type mice)
