homeostasis/metabolism
• substantially protected from diet-induced weight gain and maintain normal glucose and insulin concentrations while on the high-fat diet, even though they consume a similar amount of food as wild-type
• in the fed, but not fasted state, exhibit a 13% reduction in blood glucose concentration, however, brain, liver, muscle, pancreas, testes, and fertility are normal
• in the fed, but not fasted state, insulin levels are about half of those of controls
• more rapid clearance of glucose in oral glucose and intraperitoneal insulin tolerance tests
• lower triglyceride levels on either a regular or high-fat diet

growth/size/body
• substantially protected from diet-induced weight gain and maintain normal glucose and insulin concentrations while on the high-fat diet, even though they consume a similar amount of food as wild-type

homeostasis/metabolism
• exhibit protection from diet-induced weight gain and although they show increased fasting glucose concentrations of insulin, they maintain normal glucose levels
• in the fed state, exhibit an 8% reduction in blood glucose concentration, however do not exhibit an altered glucose tolerance

growth/size/body
• exhibit protection from diet-induced weight gain and although they show increased fasting glucose concentrations of insulin, they maintain normal glucose levels

• one mouse at 6 weeks of age shows a microinvasive adenocarcinoma
