immune system
• in the lamina propria of the intestine the proportion of CD8+ T cells is reduced and there is a relative increase in CD4+ T cells and B cells
• increase in the relative percentage of gamma-delta T cells in the mesenteric lymph node
• decrease in the total number of intraepithelial lymphocytes primarily apparently due to a reduction in the number of gamma-delta intraepithelial lymphocytes
• only account for 20-30% of the total intraepeithelial lymphocyte T cell population
• increase in the relative percentage of gamma-delta T cells

hematopoietic system
• fewer pre-pro B cells
• fewer CD4+ B220+ B cells in bone marrow, but numbers of mature B cells are not affected
• one day lag in the development of double positive cells in fetal thymus
• 3-5 fold decrease in number of T cell receptor gamma/delta cells found in small intestine
• intraepithelial lymphocyte to epithelial cell ratio is decreased 2-fold in small intestine
• 3-fold fewer lymphoid cells from E14.5-E17.5, corrected by E18.5
• 15-20 fold fewer double positive cells at E16.5
• 2-3 fold increase in peripheral T cell receptor gamma/delta cells found in lymph nodes and spleen
